Catherine Hinton Physiotherapist

About Catherine Hinton

I am a physiotherapist based on the Surrey/Hampshire border, with over 15 years experience in musculoskeletal injury and dysfunction.  I qualified from St George's Hospital University of London in 2007 and later went on to qualify with a post-graduate certificate at masters level in Advanced Physiotherapy.  As a result, I specialise in conditions affecting the lumbar spine, hip and knee, but also provide expert knowledge and treatment for all other areas of the body.  I worked for Nuffield Health for over ten years as both an advanced level physiotherapist and a regional clinical lead, providing expertise and guidance to physiotherapists across London.

 â€‹Ethos

I am a strong advocate for root-cause, functional healthcare and have a holistic assessment process in keeping with this.  I have a keen interest in nutrition, stress, sleep, hormones and metabolic health and how these can influence pain or injury.

My approach is always collaborative and specific to you as an individual.  I will ensure you feel listened to, understood, and part of the decision making process throughout your treatment.  I am highly experienced in handling complex multi-faceted problems, and take a whole-person approach to get to the root cause of your problem.  I am genuinely passionate about helping people, and want your experience of physiotherapy to be not only positive, but enjoyable.

Sport and exercise

I specialise in movement analysis and exercise prescription, incorporating this into running, cycling and other sport-related injuries to ensure you return to your fitness goals as soon as possible.  The Physio2Fit clinic is a multipurpose space, allowing you to return to exercise confidently - whether that be a daily dog walk, or an ultra marathon - under the professional guidance of a clinician.  I have over 10 years experience working within a gym; I can provide practical, meaningful feedback about your movements, allowing you to refine your technique specifically to you, and prevent recurring injury.  I am also a physiotherapist qualified to teach pilates and yoga and can incorporate this into rehab whenever needed.

Post-operative care

I have strong working relationships with local orthopaedics consultants and can liaise directly with them and your GP ensuring joined-up care throughout your rehabilitation.  I have a particular interest in recovery following spinal surgery and lower limb surgery.
